The 550xp was the successor to the 346xp. It used the strato technology, as well as autotune, and was lighter than the 346xp. It was also faster out-of-the-box than a 346xp, although a 346xp ported was faster. Porting a 550xp yielded smaller marginal returns as Husqvarna left less on the table to gain back.
